The legendary NFL player was recently in attendance at the 2022 Texas Bowl game between Kansas and LSU. Here’s more on Kurt Warner’s son Kade, who played in the game, and his wife, Brenda Warner.

Kurt Warner is a legendary Super Bowl Champion, and NFL Hall of Famer, who’s story of going from an undrafted free agent to a two-time Most Valuable Player and Super Bowl MVP, is one of the greatest in football history.

Warner officially announced his retirement from the NFL in January 2010, and now it appears the next generation of Warners are carving their own name into football. Kurt recently watched his son, Kade Warner, play in the 2022 Texas Bowl, in what turned out to be a family affair.

Kurt Warner and his wife attend Texas Bowl to watch son

The NFL Hall of Famer enjoyed his first ever bowl-game experience on Tuesday when he watched son, Kade, play for Kansas State in the 2022 Texas Bowl. The Wildcats beat LSU 42-20 in Houston, Texas, and Kurt was clearly excited to be in attendance.

“Excited to be experiencing my 1st Bowl Game ever (ok outside the #SuperBowl),” he tweeted on Tuesday night, “Thank you @KadeWarner @KStateFB – now let’s finish the season off right.

Kurt’s wife, and Kade’s mom, Brenda, was also in attendance and tweeted from the crowd. ‘Cheering on our boy for the last game of season, oh and a bowl game! Go @KStateFB#EMAW@kurt13warner is proud papa #TexasBowl‘, Brenda Warner tweeted.

More on Kade Warner’s football career

Kade Warner was born September 29, 1998, and is the son of Kurt and Brenda Warner. He is a graduate student who is working on his master’s degree in academic advising, and is a senior Kansas State wide receiver.

According to K State Sports, Warner spent the first three seasons of his college football career in Lincoln, where he played for Nebraska. Kade appeared in 16 games for the Huskers, totalling 30 receptions for 236 yards. He is also a three-time Academic All-Big Ten performer and was named to the Brook Berringer and Tom Osborne Citizenship teams in 2019 and 2020.

Kade also made an impact in the Texas Bowl in front of mom and dad, catching a pass and racing 25 yards which came halfway through the second quarter, per CJ Online. Heading into the game against LSU, Warner reportedly had 11 receptions for 124 yards.

Kade Warner’s mom is Brenda Warner, who has been married to Kurt for 24 years. The couple met in college and married in 1997. Brenda is a former United States Marine Corps corporal, and was divorced with two children, one of whom was left brain damaged and blind, when she met Kurt.

After marrying Brenda, Warner officially adopted her two children from her first marriage, while also having five children of their own. Brenda and Kurt endured many hardships during the early part of their relationship, and their story was turned into a recent film called American Underdog. The film chronicles Kurt’s struggles in getting to the NFL, as well as the couple’s love story and sacrifices along the way.

Kurt and Brenda also have a charity together, Treasure House, which is a nonprofit organization offering a unique living community for young adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities.
