Speaking on the DR Sports YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has shared what he knows about Arsenal’s pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with a move for Vlahovic this month, even reportedly making a bid for the Serbian striker.
However, while the Gunners are trying to bring the player to the Emirates, talks are yet to advance because the player’s agent isn’t convinced by Arsenal.
What’s been said about Vlahovic?
The journalist shared what he knows about Vlahovic
“It’s true that they approached Fiorentina to negotiate for Vlahovic and to try and find a way. They have a good relationship because Lucas Torreira is on loan to Fiorentina with a buy option, so it’s a good relationship between the clubs,” Romano said.
“The problem is with the player. It’s the same situation, I am told, that’s why it’s not in advanced stages or close to being completed. From the agent’s side, they’re not open to talk with Arsenal or to move to Arsenal in January.
“It seems the player wants to stay at Fiorentina until the end of the season, to lead Fiorentina back to European football and then to leave the club in the summer.”
Test for Edu
This is a massive test for Edu and his capabilities as Arsenal’s Director of Football.
Vlahovic is a fantastic talent who would undoubtedly make Arsenal a better side, but his agents will need some convincing in order to get this deal over the line.
Will Edu be able to sell the project to Vlahovic and his representatives? Well, if he can he’ll deserve a huge amount of credit.
