[Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for Single’s Inferno.]
Some contestants might not find love in ‘Single’s Inferno’
Unlike other dating shows, Single’s Inferno takes place over nine days and only has eight episodes in its first season. So far, fans might be unconvinced solid couples will form by the show’s end. As three new contestants were introduced in episode 5, it caused some drama among the brewing romances.
Fans watched as Kang So-yeon had conflicting feelings toward her pick Oh Jin-taek. But after realizing he might not feel the same, she found a new interest in her initial choice Moon Se-hoo. Moon spent most of the show focused on Shin Ji-Yeon, who showed no interest in him.
After the two new female contestants showed interest in Moon, he ultimately picked Shin to go to Paradise. There is more drama as Song Ji-a and Kim Hyeon-joong were loved by fans as a couple. As they showed promise to leave together, Cha Hyun-seung gets between them.
So far, it is unclear if any of the contestants will find love and partner within the first season’s eight episodes. Fans feel An Yae-won deserves better as the male contestants brush her away along with Kang.
Will there be a ‘Single’s Inferno’ Season 2?
Single’s Inferno is Netflix’s first original Korean dating show that has been a success among audiences. Fans cannot stop discussing their frustrations over the contestants’ choices and battles to find love. According to Yahoo! News, the show topped the Top 10’s list in South Korea and other Asian countries.
With the show’s success, fans want a Single’s Inferno Season 2. But does Netflix have plans to continue the dating reality show? A Single’s Inferno Season 2 has a high possibility of happening. The Netflix show already developed enough promise and intrigue to keep the momentum going.
But Netflix has yet to confirm a Single’s Inferno Season 2. Fans will have to wait and see the outcome of the season finale and who left the island as a couple. Like most dating reality shows, a Single’s Inferno Season 2 might bring in a new group of contestants.
‘Single’s Inferno’ Season 2 will follow the same story structure
Dating reality shows often follow the same structure from season to season. Shows like The Bachelor focus on one center bachelor looking for love among 30 women through a series of dates and intimate moments. A Single’s Inferno Season 2 will also likely focus on the same structure seen in season 1.
A group of male and female contestants arrives on an isolated island with the promise of finding a partner. The contestants are unaware of each other’s professions and ages. To escape Inferno, the male or female contestants must vote for their choice. If their choice is a match, they leave to Paradise as a couple.
In between, the contestants take part in small challenges to win luxuries like iced coffee or a special date. Romantic feelings are not guaranteed as a person’s interests can change overnight.
