Lyon signed the 6-cap Brazil international for £17m, although they are said to want a fee in the region of £40m if they are to sell their No.39.
The Evening Standard add that Everton and Newcastle have also scouted Guimaraes, who won a gold medal at the Olympic Games in 2021.
Lyon are struggling financially, so they could be receptive to offers this month.
However, the Evening Standard claim the Ligue 1 side would ideally like to keep the South American for the rest of the season, at least.
What could Bruno Guimaraes offer Arsenal, Everton or Newcastle?

You may not have heard of Guimaraes, and if that is the case, a comparison to a better known player may be welcomed.
Interestingly, the Rio de Janeiro-born midfielder has been likened to Kevin De Bruyne by Tite.
The Brazilian national team head coach told France Football: “We currently lack a midfielder. A player like Falcao in the past or like De Bruyne today, someone able to bring more creativity, speed. Bruno Guimaraes has enormous potential and can be that player.”

So far this season, Guimaraes has failed to score in 22 appearances, although he does have five assists to his name.
In truth, as a deep-lying playmaker, the Brazilian doesn’t venture into the final third often – he has only scored ten goals in 152 games throughout his career.
Keep an eye on this saga, as the Evening Standard believe Everton and Newcastle are likely to react if Arsenal make a bid.
